Frequently Asked Questions

healthy_family_600x400Are Chiropractic Doctors recognized as legal and valid?

Doctors of Chiropractic are licensed in all 50 states. DCs have been licensed and recognized for many decades in all states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Candidates must complete extensive undergraduate prerequisites and four years of graduate-level instruction and internship at an accredited chiropractic institution.

Comprehensive knowledge of all systems of the body and diagnostic procedures enable the DC to thoroughly evaluate a patient, address disorders relating to the spine and determine the need for referral to another health care provider.

Why use a Chiropractor?

Chiropractic care is safe and noninvasive, providing effective relief by fixing the structural problem rather than cover the symptoms with drugs or risky surgery.

A fall, slip or an accident, age, wear tear, stress and strain, poor muscle tone poor posture and occupation can lead do a condition that chiropractors and only chiropractors specialize in.  This condition is called a subluxation complex, we are all subject to subluxations.  Subluxations are misalignment of vertebrae that compress on vital nerves that go to all of the organs inside your body. The brain sends signals along the spinal cord that branch out to 31 pairs of nerves.  If one or more of these vertebrae are not aligned properly they can pinch upon a nerve and affect the impulse causing pain or improper function wherever the nerve goes.

Could I just use pain pills instead?

pain-pillsPain pills may reduce the pain temporarily, but this only masks the deeper body issues that needs to be addressed. When we mask pain over and over again the core problem can magnify which may require longer healing or possibly far greater illness.

Our bodies are whole systems. Just as our spine and nerves are connected to all the functions of our bodies, when we add an outside chemical to the body it not only affects its target area, but can effect other systems connected to it.
